Fishermen and explorers from Europe were recorded on the rocky shores of Newfoundland since 1497. Norse Vikings settled in L'Anse Meadows as early as 990. The Beothuk people were the original people of Ktaqmkuk, with other Indigenous peoples (Mi’kmaq, Innu, and Inuit) leaving their imprint on the province. Suffice to say, there is an ample amount of history to be explored throughout Newfoundland.

A short 20 minute commute to St. John's, CBS is a growing community with most essential amenities, schools, and recreation near by. A few of my favorite places to hang out are Topsail Beach, Manuel's River (+ the cafe!), and Chamberlains Park. For those adventurous folk, check out the Ocean Quest Training Facility to get your scuba diving certification.
